1 July 2024 marked the start of the new financial year for local Councils, and it's also time to prepare for rates rebates for your income-qualifying residents. The rebate provides those who qualify with a healthy boost to their income, so even if you think no-one in your village is going to qualify, please join us anyway.

In partnership with the Department of internal Affairs we are running a webinar all about the rates rebate for retirement village residents and is aimed at village managers, other staff, and any interested residents (we suggest you invite the Chair and Secretary of your Residents' Committee). The webinar will go through the process of calculating the rates and how to divide that amount among the residents, and the process for residents to follow to claim the rebate. Even if you're offering a fixed weekly fee, your residents may be eligible for the rebate, so it's worth joining the discussion.
