Disciplinary Authority
Download the Retirement Village Audit Tool
The RVA has a Disciplinary Authority who is responsible for hearing complaints against member villages which have failed to comply with the Code of Practice, which consistently fail their audits, or behave in such a manner so as to bring the industry into disrepute. Complaints may be brought by other RVA members or associates, the auditing agency, the statutory supervisor, a member of the public, a resident or their family, or brought by the Executive Committee itself. In dealing with a complaint, the rules of natural justice must be followed.
The Authority is chaired by the Hon Dr. John Priestley QC. Dr Priestley is a retired High Court judge who specialised in Family Law matters.
